What is new at Poly-Grames?
CQREER Service Platform
The Poly-Grames Research Center makes its personnel, facilities and equipment for manufacturing and measurement available to the industrial and academic community through the “Quebec Research Center for Radiofrequency Research, Expertise, and Testing” (CQREER) service platform.
Antenna Measurements
New absorbers were installed in the Poly-Grames Anechoic chamber to maintain its effectiveness in wave absorbing.
Software and hardware update of the MI compact range measurement system, including motor controllers, signal generator and wideband receivers.
NSI system for high frequency antenna measurements (higher than 75 GHz)
Device characterization
The Poly-Grames enhanced its list of instruments with a New Wideband Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) up to 120GHz from Keysight technology.
The high frequency measurement capabilities was augmented with new VNA extenders up to 1.1 THz from Virginia Diodes
Acquisition of the Infiniium UXR-Series Oscilloscope up to 110 GHz addressing different applications.
All the Keysight VNAs of the Poly-Grames are upgraded to the latest version B
Circuit fabrication and machining techniques
New technology used for via fabrication, employing cathodic sputtering eliminates the use of expensive and perishable chemical solutions, reducing manufacturing time by 70%.
Innovative method for manufacturing hybrid circuits on thin gold ceramic substrates, using solid masks instead of lithography, reduces manufacturing time and eliminates the need to print masks on glass substrates.
Integration of 3D-printed elements, whether plated or not.
Enhanced performance for micro machining with tools diameter down to 0.004 inches or 100 micrometers.
Optimization of multi-step machining (transfer between machines, for various machining ranges).
